A Note from the Director:
Celebrating Two Milestones

This coming September, the Tinley Park Public Library will celebrate two milestones: 10 years in our current building and 15 years of operating the Bookmobile.

In the fall of 2004, the library moved into its new building, more than doubling the space of the old facility. Since that momentous day, the Library Board of Trustees, Administration, and staff have worked hard to provide the citizens of Tinley Park and Orland Hills, in this era of instant information, with a modern institution, dynamic resources, exceptional service, and reliable information in a comfortable, welcoming space.

Celebrating 15 years of service and making its first run back in 1999, the Bookmobile, a mainstay of the Village’s parades and Family Night Out, has become an integral part of the outreach efforts of the library to bring full service to those citizens of Tinley Park and Orland Hills who cannot make it to the main library building.

Today’s library is much more than just a warehouse of books; it is a welcoming, vibrant center of information that strives to offer a sampling of what is current today, while keeping in mind the value of the book and the simple pleasures of reading. We thank you for your continued support and we look forward to many more years of serving you, our customers.

Thank you,
Richard A. Wolff
