No Harry Nilsson!...have you ever heard of him? It seems like there are two kinds of people: those who love Harry, and those who have never heard of him. The new book Nilsson: The Life of a Singer-Songwriter by Alyn Shipton is a great new biography that covers Nilsson’s entire life, from his heartbreaking childhood through his meteoric rise to fame and his struggles with the many demons that lead to his career-ending physical problems. This well-documented book is a perfect companion to the DVD Who is Harry Nilsson and Why is Everybody Talkin’ About Him?, available through interlibrary loan. *Susan from Administration

Recently, at the reference desk, I was asked about the new movie, “Dallas Buyers Club”. The patron wanted to know about the book that this movie was based on. The story is based on true events, but there never was a book written about the "Dallas Buyers Club". However, after doing a little research, I learned that Don Woodroof's story was reported in the Dallas Morning News in 1992, and they recently reprinted it.
