The Japanese Lover by Isabel Allende
On May 11th at 1:30pm we will host a discussion of Isabel Allende's most recent book. Pick up your hardcover, large print, or audiobook copy at the Adult Reference Desk on the lower level.
Spanning generation and continents, The Japanese Lover recounts the romance between Alma Belasco, exiled from Poland during the Third Reich, and Ichimei Fukuda, the son of Alma's adoptive family's Japanese gardener. A deep and tender exploration of questions of identity, redemption, and the role of fate in how our lives play out.
The Adult and Youth Services Reference Desks now lend MacBook Air laptops for in-library use.
These laptops are great for many projects, but you might also just want to browse the Web in a quiet corner of the library. Please visit one of the Reference Desks for details!
