Be a part of what we do at the Tinley Park Public Library!
Students in grades 6-12 are eligible to volunteer at the library.
Students must be residents of Tinley Park or Orland Hills, attend a school in either community, or be a member of an organization in our service area.
Students in grades 6-12 may volunteer to earn service hours for a religious organization or for school. We also accept volunteers who would like to volunteer “just for fun.” At this time, we are unable to accept court-ordered service hours.
How it works
After signing up, you will receive an email on the 20th of every month with a link and an access code to a website listing the volunteer opportunities for the next month. Instead of responding via email, however, volunteers are able to sign up online.
If you do not receive our email on the 20th, please check your spam/junk mail folder for the email.
Volunteer opportunities will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Volunteers will be expected to complete tasks assigned in order to earn credit for their time. If you are late to assist with a program, we may substitute another volunteer task, such as cleaning books.
Missing a scheduled volunteer time without prior notification will result in removal from our active volunteer database. This means you will no longer be notified when volunteer opportunities arise. In addition, if you miss your scheduled volunteer time, we will inform the organization sponsoring your volunteer work.
Please let us know when you have completed your service hour requirements so that we can remove you from our lists.
