Make your own lotus flower lantern! Learn about Korea's unique history and the significance of the lotus lantern in Korean culture through a documentary film and a short presentation. Led via ZOOM by a member of The Korean Spirit and Culture Promotion Project. Library staff will be present to assist with the hands on portion. By the end of the class you will have a lotus flower lantern you can take home with you. TPPL cardholders. Signup required.
Speaker bio: Younhee Shin started volunteering as a program coordinator for KSCPP in 2005 and has been teaching the lotus lantern craft workshop since 2012. She graduated from “Accademia di Costume e Moda” in Italy with a major in Jewelry Design, and worked as a designer & director for more than 20 years in several different Jewelry companies in NY & CA.
