The fountain has been completed! We hope you like it as much as we do. The third picture below is the design for our next fountain! :-)

It's a beautiful fountain; however, there should be a sign warning onlookers that it is NOT A WISHING FOUNTAIN, as most fountains welcome. After attending the family movie night yesterday with my daughter and two grandchildren who made excitedly special wishes by tossing coins in the fountain as they do at other fountains (Frankfort Library, Zabrocki Plaza, etc.) a library employee snippily told us not to toss coins because it will block the water flow. We had to tell them to PRETEND toss the coin but still make a wish. The fountain is especially important to my special needs granddaughter from Frankfort who visits so often and looks forward with such joy since she was 1 year old to highlight her visit with wishes into the previous fountain. She had a brain aneurysm four years ago and can no longer walk, talk or eat but she smiles and gets excited when we tell her we are going to the Tinley Park Library fountain. The new fountain and the benches surrounding it emanate a wonderful, peaceful area to read and ponder. Thanks.

Thank you for writing. We are not certain who gave you this information, but it is perfectly acceptable to toss a coin into our fountain. We hope that you and your family will enjoy visiting our fountain (and our library) for years to come!
