Sign up, read all summer long, and win cool prizes along the way!
The Teen Summer Reading Challenge is open to all teens entering Grades 6-12.
HOW TO SIGN UP
You can sign up for the summer reading challenge at the Youth Services desk on the second floor. You will receive your reading log, coupons to local businesses, and a Tinley Park Public Library light-up pen. You can sign up at any time between Monday, June 3 through Saturday, August 3. However, the later you sign up, the harder it may be to complete the entire challenge.
HOW IT WORKS
Your reading log is composed of two levels. Each level requires you to read for 10 hours. After level 1, return to the Youth Services Desk to choose your prize for finishing half of the challenge. The prize for completing level 1 is a book which you will choose among a selection of new and popular titles for middle school and high school students. After you've finished level 2, you'll receive a Teen Summer Reading Challenge canvas backpack. You'll also receive a ticket to enter the drawing for one of the Grand Prize packages, which you can preview below. If you complete the challenge before Saturday, August 3, you can complete a bonus sheet for an additional drawing ticket.
