We miss you.
As we enter this third month of a major shift in all of our lives, I hope you know that your library is still here for you. While we can’t greet you with a hello or answer your questions up close and personal, we are up and running virtually. We are answering your questions online with our “Ask a Librarian” chat service, you can check out eBooks, audiobooks, and use our online resources, and—starting this month—a full array of virtual events for all ages are scheduled at signup.tplibrary.org/events and in the Tinley Park Public Library app. We are also looking to open the external book drops on Tuesdays starting May 12, and we will begin curbside pickup in June.
While we would love to open our doors to offer all of our services, please remember that your safety and the safety of our staff are the Board of Trustees’ and my top priority during this pandemic. My Assistant Administrator and I have been hard at work developing a Phased Plan to reopen the library. The plan is a guideline for providing services based on the recommendations of CDC, local authorities and the State of Illinois.
I want to personally thank all of you for your support of the library and for making us an integral part of your lives. We have been and will continue to be here for you and we look forward to opening our doors soon!
Best regards and stay well!
