Where Stories Grow Next
The Tinley Park Public Library is entering an exciting new chapter! Our Youth & Teen Services renovation is complete, bringing modern design, improved accessibility, and creative spaces built for learning and play. Visitors can now enjoy cozy teen study areas, a colorful Lite-Brite wall, a dual-purpose nursing and sensory room, updated restrooms, and beautifully refreshed program spaces—all designed to create welcoming, inclusive environments where all ages can learn, explore, and connect.
As we celebrate this transformation and look ahead to the library’s 70th anniversary in 2026, we’re turning our focus outdoors to our next major project: the Prairie Garden & StoryWalk®. Designed by site design group, ltd. and constructed by Electric One, Inc. and HMR Construction Company, this new outdoor space will help families engage with nature, reading, and imagination in one inviting setting.
Located just behind the library, the Prairie Garden will feature native plantings, shaded seating, musical play elements, a pollinator-friendly rain garden, and a fully accessible StoryWalk® trail where families can read together, page by page, along a winding path.
This project reflects our vision of environmental awareness and community investment, while supporting our strategic goals of enhancing user experience, strengthening community connections, and practicing responsible stewardship of public resources.
Construction is expected to be completed by summer 2026.
Together, we’re cultivating spaces that inspire curiosity, connection, and care—inside and out.
