In this program, Catherine Bryla and Peggy Connor will discuss the mission of Sag Moraine Native Plant Community…..to promote the use of native plants and ecological landscape practices in our suburban landscapes. They will explain why native plants are so key in the protection of our environment and our food chain, playing a critical role in preventing further pollinator decline and ecosystem degradation. Learn about the native plants that work well in suburban landscapes, and how with small and simple steps, every landowner can make a big impact on our local ecosystem. This presentation is suitable for all ages.
Speaker Bio:
Catherine Bryla, along with her husband Jim, are the founders of Sag Moraine Native Plant Community. She has a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology and ran her own personal training business for 25 years. Catherine’s passion for the environment inspired her to use her entrepreneurial skills to form an organization that would both benefit the environment and provide an enjoyable experience for all involved.
Peggy Connor has a BS in recreational therapy and special education. However she has been in the business world for most of her career and worked in national accounts for a pharmaceutical company. She has loved gardening all her life and is excited to be involved with Sag Moraine to improve the environment.
