THERE IS CURRENTLY ONE POSITION AVAILABLE
Computer Assistant — Full Time
This full-time position assists patrons with the library’s public computers and wireless network, under the supervision of the Assistant Administrator. Requires the ability to provide consistent and friendly service to library patrons of all ages. Requires an exceptional working knowledge of computer and mobile device operations, wireless networks, the Web, and software applications such as the Microsoft Office Suite. Also requires exceptional working knowledge of audio/visual presentation equipment, such as microphones and video data projectors.
The successful candidate will communicate clearly and courteously library users and staff. Additionally, candidates will have strong trouble-shooting skills and the ability to think on their feet. The Tinley Park Public Library serves both the communities of Tinley Park and Orland Hills with a combined population of 63,852 residents.
Monday – Thursday, 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Fridays 12:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Must have an associate’s degree or higher; command of latest Microsoft OS, various mobile platforms and devices, and familiarity with latest trends in consumer technology; customer service experience; willingness to work evenings; access to transportation.
