Computer Assistant – Part Time

Job Description:

This part-time position assists patrons with the library’s public computers and wireless network, under the supervision of the Assistant Administrator. Requires the ability to provide consistent and friendly service to library patrons of all ages. Additionally, it also requires an exceptional working knowledge of computer and mobile device operations, the web and Internet, wireless networks, and software such as the more popular applications within Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Cloud, as well as the ability to quickly learn new skills such as chroma-key green screen technology using FinalCut Pro.

The successful candidate will communicate clearly and courteously with library users and staff. Additionally, candidates will have strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to think on their feet. The Tinley Park Public Library serves both the communities of Tinley Park and Orland Hills with a combined population of 63,852 residents.

Job Hours:

Part-time, Tuesday and Thursday evenings, 5–9 pm and alternate weekends (Saturday 9 am–5 pm and Sunday 11:45 am–5 pm)

Requirements:

High school diploma and at least one year work experience. Must also have formal classwork in computer-related subjects, extensive hands-on experience and working knowledge of the latest Windows OS and Mac OS X, Office 2013, and knowledge of audio-visual presentation equipment such as microphones and data projectors.

Salary:
$12.98/hr.
