We have fun and educational events planned for all ages this summer! Here is what we have coming up in June.


Summer Reading Challenge 2022: Read Beyond the Beaten Path

Reading leads to new experiences! Challenge yourself to explore your world and beyond with this year’s Summer Reading Challenge: Read Beyond the Beaten Path. Starting June 6, we invite you to pick up some interesting books from the library, find a cozy spot to read, and earn rewards. There is a challenge for readers and listeners of all ages.

Geocaching – June 6-August 6

Join us for the 10th Annual ATLAS Multi-Library Geocaching Event! Use clues and geographic coordinates to find hidden geocaches at participating area libraries. For each listed geocache you discover, you earn a chance to win a $25 gift card. All ages welcome!

To be eligible for the prize drawing, your library card must be in good standing. You will need a smartphone that can scan QR codes. Find all the official clues here. Updates posted at facebook.com/MultiLibraryGeocaching.

Illinois Libraries Present: An Evening with Kwame Onwuachi (Virtual Event)

Wednesday, June 22, 7-8 pm

Chef Kwame Onwuachi will join us to present on his exciting career in food as chronicled in his bestselling memoir, Notes from a Young Black Chef. Signup required.

Get Outside

Storytimes in the Park

Mondays, June 6-27 & July 11-25
Bookmobile Stop: 10-11:30 am • Storytime: 10:15-10:45 am
Location: Lewis Park – Normandy Dr & Riverside Dr

Join us for fun in the sun this summer! Drop by for a 30-minute storytime at Lewis Park and browse in the Bookmobile. Bring a blanket or chair to sit on. Drop-in event.

Worldwide Knit in Public Day

Saturday, June 11, 10:00 am-1:00 pm

Be a part of a worldwide phenomenon! Bring your own yarn or needle project and meet us by the library pavilion. Event will be moved indoors depending on weather conditions. Drop-in event.

 

Visit the Bookmobile at the Farmers Market

Saturdays: June 25, July 23, August 20

The Bookmobile will be at the Tinley Park Farmers Market at Zabrocki Plaza, 17375 S. Oak Park Ave. on the dates listed above.
